50k Countdown: Five Days to Go

Run: 5 miles in :38:21 min. @ 7:10 p.m.
Pace: 0:00 min./per mile

Weather: Drizzle, 46°F, 71% Humidity, Wind: SE @ 12 mph; feels like 41°F
Course: A quick route around the east side of my community passing through many familiar landmarks: Park Avenue, Wegmans, Cobbs Hill, and the Expressway.

This evening I began the last three days of my (extended) taper leading up to the Mendon Trail Run 50k this coming Saturday. It is hard to believe that I have been training for nearly fifteen weeks, but I HAVE been training for FIFTEEN WEEKS. Following this evening's rainy five miles, tomorrow's three and two miles on Wednesday, all that will be left is to continue to prepare mentally for an early breakfast Saturday and finally hitting the trail at 8:00 a.m.

I've been blogging about the anticipation of this run for a long time now and it feels like time to stop talking... er... blogging about it and time to just GO FOR IT.

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
