Looking Towards Renewal

"There is deep wisdom within our very flesh, if we can only come to our senses and feel it."~Elizabeth A. Behnke
As you may recall, I have been under the weather for the last four days (or so), but this morning, I am finally feeling slightly healthier and almost ready to hit the pavement. While I suppose I could head out for a run today, I'm being cautious and rather than looking to take two steps backwards by unnecessarily pushing myself, and thereby risking the potential for extending this cold/flu, I'm choosing to take a half-step back and continuing to recuperate.

Two different "races" are on the horizon, and I may yet participate in both, not with an eye toward pr'ing or placing, but with the hope of finishing strong and creating some times on which to rebuild my training. Both the 7.5 mile road race and 5k snowshoes run are after the first of January, so it would also represent a natural moment of renewal both psychologically as well as literally, with the turning of a new page of the calendar and the beginning of a new training log (one which I received from a colleague at work.)

Embrassez votre été invincible!
