Uh… Yes, This A Running Blog!

I just realized that I haven’t posted about running in a few days.

More than this, I haven’t been running (or cycling) in a few days, for no other reason than life has been much too busy for me to take the time. The great thing is that those activities that have kept me from “training” have been highly desirable--the chief among these being taking the time to step back and spend time with my “family.” By family I mean, my own wife and children, as well as my colleagues and students at school. So, I haven’t need to “take time for myself” as the “myself-time” I’ve enjoyed is with others.

For most, this is a very busy time of year, and perhaps the most fortunate thing is that I feel is a sense of balance, without the necessity of running to maintain that even keel. There have been times in the past when I needed to run, often as a literal way of moving away from (or avoid) responsibility and challenge. I’ve still much work to do in my personal life to achieve the high level of “quan” I’d like, but as they say I’m happy to be a “work-in-progress.”

I still greatly anticipate taking the opportunity to hit the roads, and might even make it out today for a few miles or so. The weather the first day of winter (this Saturday) is being forecast as being around 45°F, so this pleasant weather pattern, coupled with ten days off(!) from work, has me looking forward. Soon, I will once again establish some goals and ramp up for a New Year of snowshoeing, running, and hiking (though not necessarily in that order)!

Embrassez votre été invincible!
