Despite the Bowerman quote above in my blog banner--the one that suggests that perhaps mileage is not the only ingrediant to successful running--I (obviously) do keep track of the miles I put into training. Not just total miles accumulated daily, weekly, monthly or annually, but I also dissagregate that information to see how many miles I have logged in "registered runs" (or races--but that implies I'm always competitive!) only. Each year, my local track club, the eponymously named Greater Rochester Track Club, invites members to tabulate their miles in order to receive an award, in this case a patch, commiscerate with the total number of miles run. For the second year in a row, I earned the "silver patch," which signifies my having "raced" between 100-199 miles during 2007! I really prize my most recent Milestone Patch Award, in addition to the other two patches I have earned in the last few years, now all I need to do now is figure out just what to do with them!
Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
