Today was a day unlike most, one filled with a lot of pleasant hanging about with my son, who will be thirteen years-old tomorrow. During the time I was not shopping for his birthday gift, and staying at home, we watched television, played X-Box, and ate. I've added the meals and times I ate today to my inventory. Here goes:
Breakfast--Between 7:45-8:45 a.m.My total seems awfully high, but given my daily rate of activity, the Harris-Benedict formula suggests that my adjusted daily caloric needs are 3286 cals.
1 toasted Onion Bagel w/All-Natural Hummus (180 cals)
1 8 oz. glass of 100% Orange Juice (120 cals)
1 Fat-free Raspberry Yogurt (120 cals)
4 cups of coffee with a tbsp of half-in-half (80 cal)
Lunch--12:00 p.m.
1 16 oz. can Chick Peas (Garbanzos) w/lite Raspberry-Pomegranate dressing (505 cals)
Snack--3:30 p.m.
Sharp Vermont Cheddar Cheese & Honey Mustard (360 cal)
4 Pretzel Rods (200 cals)
Dinner--5:15 p.m.
1 tabbouleh salad w/feta cheese, Greek dressing, 1 slice of bread (600 cals)
1 12 oz. micro-brew amber beer (200 cals)
1/3 of a hamburger w/cheese (300 cals)
2 cups decaffeinated coffee w/half-and-half and sugar (40 cals)
TOTAL: 2755 calories
Just like last year, I will track my intake for a few days following which I'll identify some changes I may want to make. In the interest of having the "days" be truly representative it would probably be better to include some days form next week when I return to work and a more "normalized" eating pattern.
