I spent a good deal of my late morning/early afternoon at the Rochester Winter Relays indoor track meet at RIT, where my daughter was competing, and the experience served to motivate me up and out the door to run despite my initial lack of motivation.

High school indoor track is not really much of a spectator sport, and as result, I have to taken the opportunity to get to too many meets; there is quite a bit of standing around and very few good vantage points from which to see the races. RIT is actually better than one of the other race sites (U of R) and closer to home than the primary one (Hobart), so I had pencilled it into my calendar many weeks ago. I was especially fortunate to bump into a colleague, who unbeknownst to me is one of our school's indoor team coaches. As we were talking "shop," he was polite enough to invite me down onto the floor where I could not only see what was happening, but also talk to my daughter.

It was an unusual meet given the "medleys" and "double legs" distances, but I am a big fan of "gimmick runs" to keep it fresh. More importantly, Jordyn and her teammates ran well, while enjoying the competition... HUZZAH!

Embrassez votre été invincible!
