Enough blabbing about things unrelated to running! Following a quick peek at the beautiful mallards to the right, let's get back to the regularly scheduled blog posts...The week's training began with great promise, but as the days wore on, my running nose and congestion got the better of me, derailing my plans. Fortunately, I put in some higher-than-expected days prior to shutting it down so at least I got some training in. Unfortunately, given the four (or more... who know what tomorrow brings) days of recovery have probably begun eating away at my conditioning. My intention is to wait out the flu and work back up to where I was.
In the recap below those miles I was schedule to run appear in parentheses. You’ll notice that I liberally switch “days,” but while attempting to adhere to the daily/weekly totals. The total mileage I had been scheduled to run this week was 24 miles:
Legend: R = Running. I've also noted increases (+x) or decreases (-x) from the previous week)As you can see, I missed the mark this week by fourteen miles. This week I am going to o my best to follow to the letter (mile) the totals I have laid out for myself. By doing this, I hope to ease into the week and not over do it on any one day at the expense of the entire weeks goals.
Monday: (0) Recovery Day
Tuesday: (2) R 6.6 miles
Wednesday: (2) R 3.4 miles
Thursday: (4) Sick Day
Friday: (0) Sick Day
Saturday: (10) Sick Day
Sunday: (6) Sick Day
TOTALS--R 10 miles (-18.6 miles from last week)
Weigh-In*: 185 lbs. (No change) [* took place at 5:00 a.m. on 2/4]
Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
