I have spent many years reading on and off about the power of meditation (Zen, Buddhist, Indian, Tibetan...) and have touched on the actuality of the practice in other endeavors which have necessitated focus and letting go. Occasionally, my running has led me to a place of stillness and relaxation and as I have grown older and begone to recognize that I may not always be able to run, and get to that still-place, I have come back to meditation to find another path.
My week "looked" something like this:
Monday thru Friday: Recovery Day, 10 min, easy yoga poses & sittingI feel quite good about the miles I did put in this week, as well as the more disciplined direction my diet has taken as well. I maintained my weight (which was in the end the goal), while not sacrificing the quality of foods I ate. All-in-all this was an interesting and forward moving week for moi...
Saturday: R 7 miles, 10 min., yoga & sitting
Sunday: R 5.2 miles, "
TOTALS--R 12.2 miles (-18.3 mi. from the previous week)
Weigh-In*: 186.5 lbs. (Same as the previous Monday) [* took place at 5:00 a.m. on 1/14]
Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
