This is NOT a diet blog. Really, it just seems that way of late as I have taken what appears to be a few days away from training to take care of other matters, but I am attempting to follow through on my New Year's resolution to show more discipline. 'Discipline' is a difficult word for most of us. Most often we think of consequences and punishment. But self-discipline is different. There is another word for 'self-discipline'. It is 'patience'. Now onto the food portion of our program:
Breakfast--Between 5:30-7:30 a.m.So, while I haven't run in three days, I have been doing a better job being disciplined with my diet, as well as reintroducing some basic yoga series' to my morning routine--not hardcore, aerobic stuff, but simple 10-20 minute series prior to a short mediation session.
1 8 oz. glass of 100% Orange Juice (120 cals)
1 serving Granola cereal w/raisins (260 cals cals)
4 cups of coffee with a tbsp of half-in-half (80 cal)
Snack--8:30 a.m.
1 fat-free Stoneyfield Blueberry Yogurt (120 cals)
Lunch--10:20 p.m.
1 Albacore Tuna in Water (90 cals)
1 servings of 100% Whole Grain Wheat Thins (140 cals)
5 slices of cucumber (10 cals)
School Snack--1:30 p.m.
1 Dole Pineapple Fruit Cups (70 cals)
2 servings Animal Crackers (220 cals)
Dinner--6:30 p.m.
1 Chicken Caesar Salad (550 cals)
Snack--9:15 p.m.
4 pretzel rods 220 (cals)
Daily Total: 1880 cals
If I'm patient, it will all fit into my running...
Embrassez votre été invincible!

Hi Scott,
Hahahaha, don't worry, you won't be reproached by me for blogging a lot about those two topics! ;-) (Especially if you've seen how much I blog about them! Hahahaha!)
But seriously, I think it's great that you record everything, as it really does help to keep a journal of your eating & exercise habits.
The food on your plan looks yummy! What program are you doing again?
Bravo on maintaining such good nutrition! Especially since, (according to marathoner & nutritionalist, Miriam Nelson, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/marathon/expert.html), eating habits have a much bigger immediate impact on weight management than running does. Sounds like you're on the right track.
Hope you had a great weekend, & thanks so much for your recent comments on my blog!

it's easy to get neurotic about keeping an eating log but i've found that after a few days the process of tracking gets simpler (kind of like maitaining a running log!)... i'm not really following a specific dietary plan although i am endeavoring to be a high fruit, veggie and grain/low meat kind of guy ;) i think my emphasis for now is "discipline"...
take care--scott
