Run: 5.9 miles in :44:14 min. @ 4:10 a.m.

Weather: Rain w/thunder, 39°F, 91% Humidity, Wind: From SSW @ 10 mph; feels like 33°F.
Course: Around.
Pace: 7:30 min./per mile

Sometimes even the weather forecasters are right. When I set out this morning on (the increasingly rare) early morning run, the air was warm and the snow melting. I figured that I could comfortably rock out a few miles wearing an old race sweatshirt... this was of course before it started drizzling... then raining... the POURING!

Fortunately, I've never seen a crappy-weather run I didn't enjoy so I plugged ahead, slowly taking on water (and weight). I stayed primarily on main roads as the side streets were like sheets of ice given the on-again-off-again melting-freezing-melting cycle... this was not the kind of morning where one could expect NOT to get soaked.

The pace I set (7:30 miles) was comfortable and though I should have worked more speed bursts, but the dark, icy, puddly(?), slushy nature of the road (and the sidewalks were worse) surface I erred on the sign of caution.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
