Waiting to Stop Falling Apart

I followed up yesterday’s rare "cold day" (rather than a "snow day") off from school by taking a "sick day" from work so that I could follow up with my podiatrist regarding some foot issues, the chief of these being the Morton's toe on my right foot. This additional day away from school (work) also gives me the opportunity to lie about relaxing in hopes of resting my lower-back, which inexplicably "went out" this past Sunday.

Once in a blue moon I will experience lower back pain for no apparent reason and woke up Sunday morning with the problem again. This, of course, is what interrupted my training late last week, and the concern has carried over to today, the start of my new training week (Mondays are traditionally a "recovery day"). Other than resting and popping Ibuprofen evry few hours there is not too much to do about my back except to chalk it up to a pulled "whatchamacallit" and hope that rest and minimal exertion will allow it to "heal."

Despite the discomfort I may still venture out this afternoon for a quick two miles or so, all that I am scheduled for today, but much of that decision is dependant on how well my back feels and how busy the YMCA is (my only access to a treadmill)... it's still freezing out!

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
