Finding myself with some time on my hands, and seeking to save any big walking/hiking adventures for when they can be enjoyed with my wife, I made the decision to walk up to and through one of the more popular municipal park sin my community, Highland Park. Both my wife and I used to live within close proximity to the park and had previously taken advantage of the many opportunities to walk through it and enjoy the views which are available: world famous flora, people, and all kinds of local birds.
I run by (and through) some part of Highland Park nearly every week, but today as I leisurely sauntered through, I brought along my camera in an effort to snap some pictures. One of the great challenges in desiring to take pictures at a park like this is that the there are so many visually stimulating images that I wish to capture in pictures (and on a blog post), that I run the risk of overdoing it. Here are some select pics, accompanied by an excerpt of a Robert Browning poem:
The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;

Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;

The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;

God's in His heaven -
All's right with the world!

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
