"By the the Power of Odin!"

Run: 5.8 miles in :43:59 min. @ 6:15 a.m.
Weather: Cloudy & Windy, 30°F, 46% Humidity, Wind: From WNW @ 30 mph, gusting to 36 mph; feels like 15°F.
Pace: 7:33 min/mile.
Course: A windy stick-strewn obstacle course (route) through the streets and sidewalks of my neighborhood.

Another incredibly windy day, one worthy of those created by Marvel Comic's Mighty Thor (as illustrated by Jack "The King" Kirby to the right), God of Thunder and son of Odin, in the comic books. There is something very cleansing about the elemental force of a good, steady wind, and it also can be deceptive.

Or more to the point, allow one to deceive himself relative to the quality of effort he is putting forth. For example, I really though I was moving a little more briskly today, like I was increasing my pace, at least a little... but, this was not the case as evidenced by my average minutes per mile.

While I recognize that the wind might have been part of the reason for my "diminished returns" if I don't begin to at least feel some improvement n the next week, I will surely attribute this perceived failure to that trickster Loki (Thor's half brother).

By Odin's beard I pledge, I will continue to carry on and train harder (or at least smarter)... HUZZAH!

Embrace your invincible summer!
