Global Warming Sunday

Run: 6.1 miles in :45:24 min. @ 7:50 a.m.
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 53°F, 95% Humidity, Wind: From S at 16 mph, gusting to 25 mph; feels like 53°F.
Pace: 7:30 min/mile.
Course: A route through the streets and sidewalks of my remarkably snow-free upstate New York neighborhood.

Tomorrow, Monday, is our last Track and Field practice of the Winter Recess, and Tuesday we will be participating in a meet, so I may need to take the next two days "off."This scheduling fact, along with the global warming level 53°F(!) temps we are currently experiencing have forced my training hand.

This morning is likely the last unnaturally "nice" weather days for a while, so, despite my already having run the previous two consecutive days, I push fate and head of for a third helping.

Upon finishing my run, I come home, and go through my "normal" post-run analysis: check out the distance, take the reading from my $10 Target watch, and use a pace calculator to determine an average pace. I felt good running today and had assumed I had been pushing it a little more than in days past. After looking at the data though, my pace remained, as it was yesterday, 7:30 min/mile... it looks like I need to add more fartlek or speed work to increase my strength, and therefore, improve my potential my pace...

Embrace your invincible summer!
