"On the Day Before Christmas..."

Run: 3.8 miles in :29:46 min. @ 7:40 a.m.
Weather: Cloudy, 19°F, 37% Humidity, Wind: From SSW @ 15 mph, gusting to 21 mph; feels like 28°F.
Pace: 7:52 min/mile.
Course: Around my slushy community on well-plowed streets and unplowed sidewalks.

... and so after packing one-hundred and thirty research papers, two novels to be read and prepped for instruction, and attending an indoor track and field meet last night until 11:00p.m., I find myself sitting at home at 6:00 am graced with the next week and a half "off" from school. The word "off" is in quotation marks as I will still be coaching two practices and a daylong meet, as well as (hopefully) correcting said papers and planning some new units (all activities I do enjoy greatly).

Also on my "agenda" for this recess is to get some sort of semblance back to my "training." After almost three weeks off, I'm sure to have lost any sharpness I had to my fitness, but I've always maintained a fair base, so hopes are that with a little consistency, things will (kind of) round back into shape.

It all begins again with that first step of the front porch and into the December slush...

Embrace your invincible summer!
