Hard to believe, but it was five(!) years ago this Christmas that Gracie formally "joined" our family. Though in truth Anne and I had driven through a blizzard up the Eastern shore of Lake Ontario to a kennel in Ottawa, Canada, three weeks earlier, as far as the kids (who were younger and more apt to "believe") knew Gracie came via Ol' Saint Nick to Anne's parents on Christmas morning. Gracie was wearing the same Santa-hat as that pictured above when she first appeared from behind the tree, though the hat looks even sillier (and smaller) now, and it somehow suits her better!
