Square One

Run: 3.7 miles in :30:20 min. @ 6:00 p.m.
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 44°F, 55% Humidity, Wind: From WSW @ 12 mph; feels like 38°F.
Pace: 8:17 min/per mile
Course: A circuitous route around my neighborhood into the heart of the city and back.

After two weeks of relative inactivity, after seeing this evening's pace, it is clearly back to "square one" with my training. One upshot is, at least for the moment, only my left knee aches rather than both.

Despite the short distance I "ran" while out, my pace definitely demonstrates a few things: first, my need to decide whether or not I am going to continue running competitively, or simply register for races to finish. The second things which needs to happen (and quickly) is a recommit to a better diet. While I haven't gained a tremendous amount of weight (anywhere from 3-to-5 pounds) I do not have the "oomph" in my step or system that I previously enjoyed.

It goes without saying that Sunday's snowshoe half-marathon is going to be an exercise in dragging my butt across the finish in an effort to avoid a bottom 30% finish... sigh.

Embrassez votre été invincible!
