Run: 6.3 miles in :51:01 min. @ 7:45 a.m.

Weather: Light Rain quickly followed by Mostly Cloudy, 40°F, 73% Humidity, Wind: From W @ 15 mph, gusting to 24 mph; feels like 32°F.Pace: 8:10 min/per mile
Course: An "old school" route, Castaway's Ritzy 6-mile Run (loop, mostly flat, roads), found on USATF Map It!
I'm not completely sure I can contribute the slower pace this morning to the early very light rain and somewhat icy conditions alone. A few other contributing factors may have been that I opted to wear my more worn trail shoes in hopes of gaining traction and warmth (due to the winds), though the primary cause is more likely the reality that this morning an yesterday represents the first training period in just over a month or so that I have gone a moderate (9+ and 6+ miles respectively) distance in consecutive days of training runs.
I am far from disjointedness by the resulting pace (8:09 per mile) as I was consciously reminding myself to "take it easy... slow down... pace yourself" during the run. I am fully aware of the dangers of over training in a moment of exuberance and I don't5 want to take two steps forward today at the expense of having to take another step back on Tuesday (the next day I hope to run). The favorable weather has been a boon to my motivation the past two days, the trickier part will be maintaining this sudden internal burst when the weather once again turns seasonal (Translation: COLD!)... likely any moment now! For now though, let's briefly fouc on some pluses and minuses of the recent warm front:
Weather positives: the snow & ice continues to melt with the unseasonable warm temperatures. It would appear that the yin-and-yang of the nice(r) weather is that although I am happy running, nature has added another item to my "Sunday Chore List." Fair enough!
Weather negative: SURPRISE! ...the melting snow and ice is revealing all my dog's dropping which I am required to pick up... though a "natural phenomenon" (the dropping and the met) it just looks yucky!
Embrassez votre été invincible!
