Don't let the icy Genesee River fool you... this morning we had a HEATWAVE here in River City! This, of course, translated into my hankering for an attempt at a training run.Initially, I had thought seriously about joining one of the local running groups for a long, slow, jaunt this morning, but I always get the feeling that by getting started on my run a little later, I am somehow taking too much time. I know, it doesn't make too much sense to me either once I think about it.
Part of the reason behind why I thought about joining the running group this particular morning was because I needed some motivation to get out, though most weekend's I don't find myself that lacking in the desire to get out--I'm finding that, especially during track and field season, that during the work week is when this is most difficult.
Maybe I'll head out with a group this week... (as a friend at work reminds me, I've sort of turned into that guy who says "maybe" when he really means "no.") But things change, right?
This morning's temps (and lack of precipitation) did turn out to be perfect for a run, and I felt a ran fairly well after a four day layoff(!)... here's to hoping that the "nice" weather lasts; though as I recall last March's(!) Run Around the Bay, there is likely more freezing cold snow left in our future.
Embrassez votre été invincible!
