Plan: 5 minute walk, 20 minute jog, 5 min. walk
Actual time: 34:25 min.
Cumulative Pace: 9:49 min/mile
Run Pace: 2.6 miles in 20 min, pace of 7:38 per mile
Weather: Partly Cloudy, 63°F, 91% Humidity, Winds: WNW @ 14 mph, gusting up to 28 mph; feels like 63°F.
Walk-Run-Walk (5 min.-20 min.-5 min.+): I made a conscious effort to push myself a little harder with my pace during the "run," and by trying to cover a route that included a number of elevated surfaces... not quite "hills," but a sensible move toward more challenging routes as my conditioning improves. Though my running split (2.6 miles in 20 min. resulting in a miel pace of 7:38) was nearly identical to what I ran two days ago, the rigor of the course was higher so despite the times being equal, I believe that the quality of the workout was more challenging.
Tomorrow, the duration jumps to 25 minutes, which, while I am looking forward to, am prepared for the probable "learning curve" relative to pace and focus which is likely to occur.
