How did I feel? Okay.
In the interest of breaking the string of 3.1 miles in 25 minutes, I decide before leaving the house this morning to go four miles, whether it takes my 25 minutes or 65 minutes. Tomorrow (Monday) is a planned rest day, and following that, the training schedule calls for my first three day series of runs. This will put me back where I ended, as it will be the beginning of establish a Sunday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Saturday schedule of runs. The distances will, of course be much lower (I'm not seeing any 20 mile long runs on the horizon for a while), but at least clear progress will be evident...
...and it was, sort of. After 25 minutes I had travelled my (now, regrettably, standard) 3.1-ish miles, but today I continued on for an additional 8 minutes, ultimately running just a hair short of 4 miles (3.97). Following this coming week's 5 days of 25 minutes (a change to five days of training weekly rather than the four I have been engaged in for the last five weeks) I am considering returning to the FIRST 1/2 marathon plan which is predicated on 5 training days weekly of varying paces and lengths.
As always, the challenge will continue to be finding the time to train during school and as I'll be coaching girls cross-country this fall (with "official" practices scheduled to begin mid-August) it will be difficult... but I could complain about what's tough to do or I can go about finding a way to do these things if they are important to me :)
