Canal Run: 9.2 miles in 1:05:25 min. @ 9:00 a.m.

Weather: Partly Sunny, 58°F, 90% Humidity, Winds: SSW @ 5 mph; feels like 64°F.

Pace: 7:07 min./per mile avg.

For the second conescutive day, following eysterady's training run with Anne and greg, and today solo, I ran on the Erie canal Path Way. Just how far did I go today> Just as I did yesterday, I used the Erie Canal Running Distances chart provided courtesy of the GRTC website, to figure it out. (This resource provided by the Greater Rochester Track Club has been immensely helpful in satiating my "I-need-to-know-how-many-miles" mania and made the canal pathway a much more manageable running option.)

Yesterday, we began our run at Lock 33, and this morning I switched it up by running to Lock 33 from Genesee Valley Park, a convergence point for the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail, the Erie Canal Heritage Trail, and the Genesee Riverway Trail, all right here in River City (Rochester, to you)! Specifically, I actually began running about .3 mile before beginning to cross the Erie Canal footbridge at the Genesee Waterways Center. From there, I then made my way over the Erie Canal footbridge and then down the canal to Lock 33. So, using the chart the distance to Lock 33 from the footbridge is 4.39, plus .3 equals a one way distance of 4.69, or 4.6.

That means that my "round trip run" this morning was 9.2 miles... HUZZAH!

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
