Bicycling: 22 Miles Total

To School: 11 miles in :45:46 min. @ 6:20 a.m.
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 57°F, 69% Humidity, Wind: WSW @ 12 mph; feels like 57°F.
Course: Bike 2 Work Day Route 1.

For the first time, I drove Jack to his mother's for school, came home, then rode to school. Fortunately it is exam wee at school so there is not much prepping for me to do for classes, though "exam days" can require much more management given the potential for "free time." I rode the "regular" course this morning straight into a headwind which added minutes to my overall travel time. Next year, when I move to the high school, which has an early start (and end) time, it may be difficult to bike, especially when Jack is home. Of course, it doesn't pay to waste any energy giving too much thought to something which is hardly even on the radar yet...

Back Home: 11 miles in :57:00 min. @ 2:50 p.m.
Weather: Cloudy, 61°F, 54% Humidity, Wind: W @ 17 mph, gusting up to 24 mph; feels like 61°F.

The ride home each day is significantly tougher than the ride to school. More than just the fact that it comes after a day of work is the fact that the route is decidedly more uphill. I find myself needing to stop for a few moments, or braking at busy streets, to take swigs of water or wipe sweat out of my eyes. Ultimately, I feel good about having elected to ride rather than drive... but sometimes drawing that sense of satisfaction from the experience is easier than other times...

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
