The Training Week That Was... 8/18-24

Another very disciplined and relaxing week of challenging runs and ample recovery periods. This past week has seen my training return (again!)me back to the Erie Canal (to the right is a pic of me leaving the trail briefly to head over an overpass during last year's Rochester Marathon Relay). The canal trail continue to be both an excellent training tool, as well as providing a very meditative course for a beautiful Sunday morning run.

Here's what went down:
Legend: R = Running, ri = recovery interval, ez = easy, mt = mid-tempo, t = tempo, wu = warm-up, cd = cool down, ez = easy, B = Bicycling
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: R 9.2 miles (mt)
Wednesday: Rest, B 7 miles
Thursday: R 4.1 miles (t)
Friday: Rest
Saturday: R 18.1 miles (LSD)
Sunday: R 8.4 miles

TOTAL (Run)--39.8 miles (+0.7 miles from previous week)
TOTAL (Bicycle)--7 miles (-8.8 miles from the previous week)
This coming week is the last of our Summer Break and is therefore a transition week of sorts on a number of different levels: home to work, free to work time, recreational to scheduled activities time. I am planning on taking full advantage of whatever the days bring, including having registered for run next Saturday (5k) and Sunday (12k).

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
