Working Towards a Weekend "Monster"

Run: 9.6 miles in 1:13:23 min. @ 4:30 a.m.
Weather: Cloudy w/ occasional Light Rain, 58°F, 86% Humidity, Wind: N @ 1 mph; feels like 58°F.
Pace: 0:00 min/mile
Course: Castaway's 9.5 Mile Money Route found using USATF Map It!.

After failing to get up early enough yesterday morning to run in the cooler (though equally as humid) early morning air, I found myself faced with the task of setting out for an afternoon jaunt. This was, of course, if I hoped to maintain my training schedule... which I did not, at least for the moment.

So this morning (Thursday), I woke up a little earlier than usual, and though I had taken a Personal Day from work and therefore did not need to leave at 6:00 a.m., I did have another appointment at 7:30--more than enough time to get a (nearly) 10-miler in.

I had been looking forward t having a "Rest Day" on Friday given the recent meatier weekend mileage I've been putting in, but this morning's training run will now need to be followed soon afterwards (maybe a double dip run this evening, but more likely tomorrow afternoon sometime) by another eight (or so) miler just prior to a MONSTER 22 miler on Saturday or Sunday, with a ten mile run on whatever day doesn't get the twenty-two--YIPPEE-KY-YEAH!

I'm slowly, but surely, getting jacked for July Fourth's 50k...

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!

Give me a holler if you want any info about the Finger Lakes course... I "ran" the 25k last year and am gearing up for the 50k this year.
