Hike: Approx. 4 confused miles in approx. 40:00 min @ 12:30 p.m.
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 87°F, 58% Humidity, Wind: W @ 8mph; feels like 90°F.
Course: A section of Old Pond Trail at Mendon Ponds Park.
So it's absolutely the most dangerously warm day of the summer and what do Anne and I decide to do with ourselves? Why go for an impromptu hike, of course!
This was not one of our best ideas, but we made the best of a challenging hike and made it home relatively unscathed!
Happy trails and roads to you!

I like the top photo. Has texture and personality.
awesome geese pics - I'm a biut further south than you but we have a few 'extended visit' canadian geese that love the area; Many different groupings I've seen. One that I keep up with almost daily likes to hand out at this pond behind where I work. They always walk up the path to visit me (I always walk down there to be in the shade of the trees while I do a little afternoon meditating..) Will have to share my goosie pics too. Good to see you again Scotty!
It think the white ball is:
CEPHALANTHUS OCCIDENTALIS
"BUTTON BUSH"
JayVee--oddly over the past year i have grown very fond of ducks and almost like "where's waldo" my eye seems to be drawn to them when out and about.
Mushy--thanks for the info: becoming more famialir with local fauna/flora is a goal of mine, but as it is i find myself carrying a camera, trail guide and bird identifcation book with me while hiking, i'm beginningto feel like somehting of a pack mule :)
thanks all for stopping in and commenting... cheers!
