Seneca Park Zoo: Pairs

One could spend the afternoon watching the African Black-footed penguins interact with one another...

My son and I took advantage of an activity free morning to take a trip to the Seneca Park Zoo. Of course, we also brought our camera with us. It would be fair to say that, though the animals we did see were beautiful, we were a little disappointed that there seemed to be fewer of them on display. Additionally, some of those that were (raccoon, turkey vulture) could have just as easily (and in a more natural environment) been seen about fifteen minutes east at his mother's house... like in the backyard digging through garbage and harassing mail carriers! We took many pictures, so I thought I would post them somewhat thematically, this first four being animals/birds in "pairs."

"Love" was in the air... no surprise that this "event" proved a popular photographic opportunity :)

These parrots were left in a carrier about ten feet off the ground--maybe for a "wild birds" show later in the mornining?

With the elephant exhibit "closed," the White rhinos were our best chance of seeing the larger mammals in action.
