Westward Ho! Day 3: Ramblings from Deep in Nebraska

It's 7:00 a.m. and while I can't sleep, both of my travelling companions (wife and stepson) are having a better go of it, and good for them. I have found myself having a hard time staying in bed onc I am slightly brought to conscoiusness, so for this reason I am glad we brought the laptop... it gives me time to write both this blog and other things.

I'm guessing that my ability to post will decrease starting today and continuing for the next week, as we will be moving on to my brother-in-law's in Wyoming and I don't believe he has a wireless hook-up. Besides, it is difficult to spend hours online while visiting family and I really don't want to waste too much time indoors, if it can be helped. I imagine that I will begin scribbling things in my notebook to be transferred (or trnalsted) at a later date. Additionally, I will endeavor to continue taking digital pictures to also be posted (eventually).

The "big race" starts at 7:30 a.m. Firday morning with my first leg (leg 10) to start somewhere around 4:00 p.m.-ish (my guess, based on nothing but personal projections). I am looking forward to seeing this adventure through to its finish in Steamboat, Colorado... then its off to (maybe) Deadwood, South Dakota!

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU ARE ALIVE!
