In effort to keep my training fresh, I went running this morning with some of other local runners who I met at some of my more recent races. We did a log (for me, that is, though others could have gone further) run at a comfortable pace, and while it was cooler than in recent days, once we got moving I found that I had dressed appropriately by sporting my tights, a wicking shirt and t-shirt. The running as a community concept definitely made the mileage seem to be much less than it actually turned out being. Psychologically, it sure "felt" like we ran a much shorter distance. The scenery which was visible from the paved path along the drained Erie Canal was beautiful and I did happen to identify (I think) a blue heron standing in the remaining shallow water at the canal's low point. The coloring was a close match for the brownish water, so I feel fortunate to have noticed the bird at all... my amateurish identification seemed validated when the bird took flight stretching out its considerable wingspan.
Embrassez votre été invincible!
