"Well," replied Charlotte, "you must try to build yourself up. I want you to get plenty of sleep, and stop worrying. Never hurry and never worry!" (Charlotte's Web, p. 64)
After failing to exercize yesterday, I've fallen into a pattern this week of on-off-on, I went to bed early last night, so that I could get up early this morning to ride the trainer. I enjoy riding the trainer, not just because it offers me the opportunity to get some necessary exercise, but also because it gives me the chance to catch up my reading. I often tell my students that I am reading somehwere in the neighborhood of 8 books and 7 comic books, at any given moment. One of my current "go-to" novels is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, excerpted above. Like all great works of literature, there are many vivid images and powerful messages on display in this wonderful book. Opening its pages, whether early in the morning or during my lunch time, is like bringing a soft ray of sunshine to rest on my forehead... it just feels right and makes me happy.
