Jordyn's Tuesday Track Meet

Weather Report: Mostly Sunny, 57°F, 40% Humidity, Winds: From SSW @ 7 mph; feels like 50°F.

I was more well prepared to be a spectator at Jordyn's (apparently) three hour varsity high school track and field meets. I remembered to dress to stand for the duration, as well as, bringing a watch to time her. Unfortunately I once again (as I regularly do in my own races) neglected to start te timer so I relied on overhearing the officials report her times to her. She once again established PRs in two events: the 800m :02:32 and her 400m split of the 4 x 400m relay (Snafu, number two: I had to leave for my son's spring choir concert and could not get this exact time).

The competition was stiffer today and I do my best to keep Jordyn's maternal grandparents on an even keel regarding her potential. It's easy (and nice) to see your (gran)child has done well at something she has never attempted before, but patience is best before signing letters of intent to Ivy League schools... Most importantly, she is enjoying the experience, and I must admit to being proud to hear her use the language of the sport: "PR," "split," and so on...

My photographs came out a little better today (at least they looked like they did at the track!):

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE
