Gloucester, Va. Run 1: 4.0 miles in :37:53 min. @ 7:15 p.m.

Weather Report: Sunny, 73°F, 61% Humidity, Winds: WSW @ 7 mph; feels like 73°F.

Pace: 9:30 min./per mile avg.

Crawling from our bed early this morning I made my way into Gloucester, Va. feeling as though I had gained 200 lbs. overnight. (While bison burgers--yesterday's 10 p.m. dinner--are dense, surely that couldn't be right!) The Comfort Inn we are calling home for the next few days is located roughly two or so miles from the heart of Main Street, Gloucester.

Having visited two years ago, I had a sense of a short route I could run that would take me into town and back with a combined distance of four-ish miles. On our last visit I had actually gone further crossing a few of what seems like hundreds of busy pseudo-expressway roads which are not to conducive to running... maybe tomorrow, depending on how I feel after today, I may venture back along that greater distance... or not. We are after all on vacation!

Breathe in, breathe out... YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
