After crashing for about 45 minutes after work, I pulled myself out of bed, at some pasta and tomato sauce and proceeded to join my wife for a brisk walk around our neighborhood. The weather has been remarkably Spring-like so there were plenty of other folks out taking advantage of the weather (which by this time had been getting cooler with sunset). Returning home from the streets, I still had not felt "exercised" enough, so I settled onto my bicycle (which is in a "trainer")and peddled away for 15 minutes. On a trainer, in a basement, late in the evening, with the panoramic view to the right to keep me company, fifteen minutes can seem like hours... in the end, though I feel that the benefits are two-fold: I get to stretch and exercise my legs, as well as prepare for the rigors of long distance running, which without a proper level of mental toughness, can seem even LONGER!
Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
