Weather: Light Snow, 27°F, 69% Humidity, Wind: From W @ 15 mph; feels like 15°F.Pace: 7:57 min./per mile
Course: Through the sloggy, slushy streets and avenues on the Eastside of Roc City (yo!).
Originally, as I planned my weekend runs, I had hoped to make it back to the Erie Canal Trailway this morning to run, but a combination of factors (darkness at an early hour, a small window of opportunity to run) caused to me to revert back to the old standby--running a course beginning and ending at home.
Despite the fact that my bad toe is till achy--though I trip the "nail" down, filed some of the callus at the tip and swabbed it with anti-fungal--I feel that it would be a step backwards not to at least attempt to run... especially now that I've begun to put together a (relative) rhythm with my training (one day on-one-day off--etceteras).
So off I go... (Roughly sixty or so minutes later...)
Once again, except for an ache in my knees, I felt fairly strong running in the cool air, my bad toe a non-factor until walking around the house after having taken my shoes off. Similar to my last few training runs, I ran under the impression that my pace was "fast," only to find out (upon further review of the distance and time) that I was going at a very pedestrian pace.
I'll elect to take the "good," though, and embrace the relief that I seem to (at the least) be back on some sort of schedule and building my mileage. Pace (or "retirement" due to knee problems) will come later.
Embrassez votre été invincible!
