Doubt

Week 10, Key Run #3: 15.2 miles in 2:06:56 min. @ 7:10 a.m.
Plan: 13 miles @ MP + 15 sec/mile
Weather: Cloudy, 36°F, 64% Humidity, Wind: From WNW at 7 mph; feels like 30°F.
Target Tempo Pace: MP + 15 sec. (7:46 min/mile)
Actual Tempo Pace: 8:22 min/mile
Course: An quickly re-planned run along East Avenue and the Erie Canal Trail.

While I did go about two miles further this morning, it appears to have been at the expense of going almost 40 seconds (quite a bit by any standard) slower than my anticipated pace. This is unfortunate as I felt well while running, but apparently these good vibrations were due to the fact that I wasn't "pushing it" hard enough.
14.29 (1:51.00)

If I were to run a complete marathon a the same pace (8:22), my finishing time would be almost 25 minutes slower than my best, which was achieved less than a year ago. That terrible destroyer of goals... Doubt... is beginning top creep into the picture.

Breathe in, breathe out… YOU AND I ARE ALIVE!
