In addition to the family of American robins living in a nest built on a downspout to our home, we also have a family of purple finches living in the shrub outside out kitchen window. Though I can hear them frequently warbling to one another, I have been hesitant about approaching too closely for fear of disrupting their secluded nest atop the six foot shrub. While gardening the other day, I was fortunate to have the moment fall into alignment in such away that my camera was at hand and the purple finch was on guard.

Purple Finch Waits...
