Though I cumulatively walk-run-walked 4.1 miles in 0:41.27 (pace 10:06 min/mile), the breakdown was much more heartening: 2.9 miles "jogging" in 0:20.00 (pace 6:54 min/mile), and 1.2 miles walking in 0:21.27(pace 17:52 min/mile), half before and half following the run. The necessity of a mantra and focus is clearer than ever given that my cardio level is not where I'd like it to be yet. I felt today was another step in the right direction!
